normal?

In the list of great expectations I forgot to add a very important one:

I expected to have a healthy baby and I got a sick baby. David had low APGAR score after birth, went to the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) for 9 days, was later diagnosed with ASD (hole in the heart) and later still with Noonan syndrome.

But I am not saying it right. He was not sick, he was just not reacting, behaving an growing according to the books. So the phrase above becomes:

I expected to have a "normal" baby and I got a "special" one.

But is there a "normal" child ever born?
